2023 End of Year Report

We would like to thank all our supporters, who have donated throughout the year. Without you all we would not be able to continue our work in Westlake. No matter how big or small it all helps. All the sterlilised dogs now have a kennel to call home.

A big thank you to our monthly donors, who are our backbone, and carry us from month to month. We are a registered PBO and can issue Section 18 A Tax Certificates for donations received.

A special thank you to The International Woman’s Club of Cape Town, for their wonderful donation, as well as 2 members of Seeff Properties Tamboerskloof, who ran the Cape Town Marathon, and did Back-A-Buddy to raise funds for us.

A huge thank you to Barbara, who ran our Mystery Murder fund raiser. We raised R10,500 and it was a really enjoyable morning/picnic and all had fun.

To TEARS Animal Rescue – where would we be without you. They have sterilised: 47 dogs and 35 cats, as well as doing rabies vaccinations, and some hospital cases for us.

To Steenberg Vet – our go to, for both owners and their animals, as well as us. We are ever so grateful for your love, care, kindness, advice and for putting up with us barging into your busy clinic at any given time.

To Kelly Spence – our vet nurse that gives up her “day off” once a month, to come into Westlake to vaccinate and microchip our animals. 338 Dogs and 171 cats were vaccinated this year, plus 63 rabies vacs were updated. She also treats minor wounds etc. We now have 187 dogs chipped.

To Aid4Aid, Fallen Angels, Foster Love, Rescue is Life and Tears – we thank you for always helping rehome unwanted animals. Together we are stronger! 19 dogs and 8 cats were rehomed in 2023.

To Reese Harley – Silver Muzzle Rescue – we thank you for taking in the oldies, when they are no longer wanted by their owners. You really make their final days worthwhile with love, care and good food.

To SPCA – thank you for your advice and Inspectorate visits, which help re-enforce the Animal By-Laws of animal care. To Keagan, on the Lost and Found, thank you for your patience when we have a Westlake animal in your kennels. 10 dogs were surrendered by owners to SPCA.

To Cape Animal Welfare Forum – thank you for your advice and informative meetings.
